NCADA RECEIVES DRI AWARD

At the DRI’s 2003 Annual Meeting, the NCADA was presented the DRI’s Rudolph A. Janata Award in recognition of the Judicial Candidates’ Forum and recent marketing efforts.

The Judicial Candidates’ Forum, held during an election year, provides an opportunity for NCADA members to learn more about candidates seeking seats on the appellate level courts. Judicial candidates are invited to participate in the Forum and share their views on issues of relevance to the civil defense bar.

Additionally, the NCADA was recognized for its marketing and public relations efforts to increase the recognition of the Association and members’ practices to the Bar, the business community and the general public.

The Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia was also awarded the Janata Award in 2003 for its efforts in producing a comprehensive report on the civil justice system in West Virginia.

The Rudolph A. Janata Award honors the memory of a past DRI president, an is given to a state defense organization that has undertaken an innovative or unique program that contributes to the goals and objectives of the defense bar.

Two NCADA past presidents received awards in 2001. Linda Stephens was awarded the DRI’s Fred S. Sievert Award recognizing an outstanding defense bar leader; and, Samuel S. Woodley, Jr. was awarded the Louis B. Potter Lifetime Professional Service Award.
