Paralegals today share a vital role in success of the civil defense trial
practitioner. The NCADA recognizes the importance of paralegals in our
member firms and have formed a Paralegal Division. This Division will
provide resources and educational opportunities to help the defense
paralegal achieve professional excellence.
Membership in the NCADA’s Paralegal Division is open to certified
paralegals who devote a substantial amount of their professional time to the
handling of litigation, and whose presentation in such cases is primarily
for the defense, government and/or business. To be eligible, a paralegal
must work under the supervision of a lawyer member of the NCADA and must be
certified by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Paralegal Certification.
Membership Information
To qualify for membership in the NCADA, a paralegal must be certified by
the North Carolina State Bar Board of Paralegal Certification must practice
primarily for the defense of civil litigation. Applicants need to be
nominated by one supervising member attorney of the NCADA. Applications are
considered by the Board of Directors quarterly. Annual membership dues for
paralegals is $60.00. Firms with five or more paralegal members qualify for
the discount of every fifth paralegal member free. To receive a copy of the
