Black Lives & Lawyers Matter: Advocacy and Allyship in the Legal Profession

Bailey & Dixon, LLP is sponsoring a timely conversation regarding advocacy of and Allyship with Black attorneys and employees in the legal profession. Though Black attorneys and employees are not immune to the realities facing Black people or the historical and contemporaneous relationship between race and resource access in this nation, they are oftentimes expected to suppress these feelings amidst the institutional whiteness of the legal profession.

B&D has retained Black voices to lead this discussion. Wilmor Works, LLC is a black-owned initiative comprised of three African American D&I consultants (wilmorworks.com).This experience will serve as a present effort to employ the legal profession as an apparatus of institutional change by calling on legal actors to: 1) adopt the idea and practices of anti-racism, 2) recognize the harm that bias and racism brings to our profession; and, 3) speak out against current and future injustice.

Please note that this experience is $50 for attorneys and non-attorneys. We are offering it free of charge to law students. 90 minutes of CLE credit is pending approval.
